4APPLES COCO PEAT COMPOST

Organic coco peat compost is produced by bioconverting washed coco peat with lignolytic mushrooms, which break down lignocellulosic material and enrich the substrate’s nutrient profile. When incorporated into soil, this compost enhances physical structure, water holding capacity, microbial activity, and nutrient exchange, making it a superior growing medium for both agricultural and horticultural applications. Available in 10 kg PP bags, coco peat compost offers a sustainable, organic solution to improve soil health and plant growth.

Packaging and Availability

  • Pack Size: 10 kg polypropylene (PP) bags

  • Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve microbial viability.

What Is Organic Coco Peat Compost?

Organic coco peat compost starts with washed coco peat—a by‑product of coconut husk processing—then undergoes bioconversion via lignolytic (wood‑decaying) mushrooms. These fungi degrade complex lignocellulosic fibers, releasing nutrients and phytohormones into the peat matrix, thereby transforming a low‑value waste into a rich, biologically active amendment Fibre Family.

Key Benefits
1. Improved Soil Texture and Structure

Sandy soils gain bulk density and water‑holding ability, reducing leaching of nutrients.

Clayey soils become more friable and better aerated, facilitating root penetration and gas exchange.

2. Increased Water Retention

Coco peat fibers can retain up to eight times their weight in water, ensuring steady moisture availability to plant roots and reducing irrigation frequency

3. Enhanced Soil Aggregation

The organic matrix promotes formation of stable soil aggregates, which improves porosity, reduces erosion, and supports robust root systems.

4. Boosted Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC)

Bioconversion increases the number of negatively charged sites on organic particles, enhancing the soil’s ability to retain and exchange essential nutrients such as K⁺, Ca²⁺, and Mg²⁺.

5. Elevated Microbial Activity

Rich in beneficial bacteria and fungi, coco peat compost fosters a diverse soil microbiome. Enhanced microbial communities drive nitrogen fixation, nitrification, and suppression of soilborne pathogens.

6. Natural Phytohormone Supply

Phytohormones released during fungal decomposition regulate plant growth, root development, and stress responses—resulting in healthier, more vigorous crops.

Application Guidelines

Mixing Ratio: Blend coco peat compost at 10–30% (v/v) with field soil or potting mix.

Pre‑moistening: Wet compost thoroughly before mixing to ensure uniform distribution of moisture.

Incorporation: Till or hand‑mix into the top 15 cm of soil for field applications; stir into potting media for containerized plants.

Reapplication: For long‑term beds, top‑dress with a 1–2 cm layer of coco peat compost annually.
